History
As National Taipei University (NTPU) enters the 21st century, it has become a comprehensive university. Since its origin as the former National Chung Shing College of Business & Law, NTPU has become increasingly competitive. In addition to the existing departments in the Business School, Department of Business Administration, Department of Cooperative Economics, Department of Accounting and Department of Statistics, an Executive Master of Business Administration in International Finance (IEMBA) was established in 2003. NTPU has historically devoted itself to the education of professionals in Taiwan. It places a lot of emphasis on teaching theory and business practices. The program is further strengthened by international guest speakers and opportunities to participate in international events. The IEMBA targets political and business elites to join its program to become effective mangers. In addition, the MIEMBA program was initiated in 2019, recruiting executives from military personnel. The objective of the MIEMBA program is to help students develop and integrate strong theoretical, analytical, and communicative skills in their majors.
Objectives of Establishment
In order to accelerate Taiwan’s economic development, our government has established a goal of becoming a free international trade, and financial center in the Asia-pacific region. Bearing in mind the twin goals of fostering high levels of finance management and improving international finance education, the Business College founded the IEMBA program. The program is devoted to international financial research and training financial professionals.
Directions of Future Development
The Master’s program has four distinctive course specializations in order to better reflect trends and technological integration.
Option 1: It aims to develop financial professionals specialized in corporate investment and financial activities. It is particularly focused on enhancing managers’ usage and application of capital, reinforcing a company’s financial resources, and improving the financing structure.
Option 2: It specializes in improving financial technology. In other words, it fosters high-level financial engineers who accumulate internationally recognized financial expertise. It also trains professional to think globally while encouraging future-oriented managers who are trained in modern financial tools, such as derivative products.
Option 3: It offers an integrated learning environment in both theoretical and practical stock asset management. The courses combine the expertise of our business administration, law, and accounting departments. The design and use of those financial tools, such as stocks, bonds, futures and options, makes the IEMBA a unique and competitive niche program.
Option 4: Develops professionals in financial institutes and insurance management. It provides management with an international prospective, allowing them to respond effectively to the increasingly competitive environment that Taiwan has faced since joining the World Trade Organization.

We emphasize international teaching development; therefore, overseas seminars are held constantly to foster international scholarly research and exchange. On completion of the course, students will be able to consider the world from a variety of perspectives. In addition, we expect them to develop appropriate analytical skills, so they will become competent global citizens.

The IEMBA program is devoted to the research into specific professional areas. Seminars are used to invite financial professionals from different fields to participate in our university and to provide a broader, more international perspective. Through this cooperation, NTPU aims to foster professional managers and to develop into an internationally-recognized financial research center.
